Exploring the Body of Emotions

  • The Alembic 2820 Seventh Street Berkeley, California, 94710 United States (map)

Through breath, movement, sound, and relational presence, we create space for protective patterns to soften and aliveness to return. Skan–Reichian Therapy dares to descend into the hidden chambers of our emotional life—the places shaped by fear, anger, grief, and old wounds. In this gentle yet fearless unraveling, our inner landscape begins to breathe again. As we reconnect with our body's wisdom, the heart remembers its own language: longing, love, and the ecstatic expression of joy. Together We Will Explore • Habitual patterns of armoring and breath-holding • Breath, movement, sound, and voice as pathways to feeling • Relational presence and attunement with clear choice and consent • The connection between emotional expression, vitality, and embodiment At times, individual sessions may arise organically within the group process, offering opportunities for deeper exploration while being witnessed and supported by the collective field. You May Leave With • Fuller breathing and greater bodily ease • Emotional release and renewed vitality • Increased awareness of your body's signals and needs • Simple practices to support presence and self-regulation in daily life This workshop invites curiosity rather than performance. You are encouraged to move at your own pace. You may slow down, opt out of any exercise, or simply observe at any time. No previous experience is necessary. All parts of the workshop are offered by invitation, with respect for personal boundaries, choice, and consent. "Skan offers a relationship, not a prescribed method. Together we create the conditions in which what has been held can be felt, expressed, and transformed." *We will meet Saturday, July 18, 10am-6pm & Sunday, July 19, 10am -2pm
